Smart Solutions is in search of a Technical Architect to support CICS infrastructure and maintain CICS environment. Thus, experience with CICS upgrades and maintenance using SMP/E as the install tool is required. In addition, this architect will perform routine updates to the CICS configurations, implement and maintain CICS software, and assist developers with CICS-related issues. The environment also interacts with DB2, IMS, and print functionality. This role is in Madison, WI and a part of dynamic team!


What You Will Be Doing

  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT CICS infrastructure.

  • Provide an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts.

  • Understand user and process requirements.

  • Work closely with developers and engineers to develop road maps for applications, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure.

  • Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions.

  • Analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.


What We're Looking For

  • 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role

  • Experience supporting 1500+ employees working multiple locations

  • 5 years of experience with CICS (upgrades, configurations, maintenance, troubleshoot) and 3 years of SMP/E

  • Strong ability to work with customers to solve problems and support their needs

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
